This 1920’s home is in the Phinney Ridge neighborhood of Seattle. The existing kitchen layout was awkward and dated. The proposed layout takes advantage of an unused side porch to create a more efficient layout. An existing steep stair to the basement is reconfigured and the doorway between the kitchen and dining area is widened to improve the flow. The new exterior door will connect to an enlarged deck. The cabinets are IKEA with custom fronts made by the homeowners. The kitchen is the first phase in a larger project that will include finishing the basement, modifications to the main level and potentially adding an additional story.
