STUDIO ZERBEY

Studio Zerbey is a Seattle-based architecture and interiors firm founded by architects Lauren and Kyle Zerbey. We specialize in custom homes and renovations in the Pacific Northwest and beyond.

Kyle and Lauren live and work in the Ballard neighborhood of Seattle, where they’re raising their young family and experimenting with modern small space living concepts in a 1910 home that they are almost (almost!) done remodeling.

Lauren Zerbey

Lauren Zerbey
Architect

Lauren was drawn to the Pacific Northwest after receiving her Bachelor of Architecture from Oklahoma State University in 2004. After honing her skills in residential design, she founded Studio Zerbey with Kyle in 2012. Recognizing the impact that thoughtful design can have on one’s day-to-day life, Lauren enjoys approaching new projects as interesting puzzles to be solved. Outside of Studio Zerbey, she spends her time exploring hidden pockets of the city, wrangling three kiddos and continuously tweaking their 1910 home.

Kyle Zerbey

Kyle Zerbey
Architect

Kyle’s architectural journey started as a boy growing up on family land in Oklahoma with a field, creek, and wooded hillside. He and his brother spent their days exploring and building all different kinds of primitive huts. Kyle went on to earn his Bachelor of Architecture from Oklahoma State University in 2004, but his sights were already set on moving to Seattle with Lauren. Inspired by the natural modern style, Kyle continued developing a strong design sense working on custom homes at Bohlin Cywinski Jackson and Balance Associates before founding Studio Zerbey with Lauren in 2012. Kyle appreciates architecture as a noble profession that combines arts and science with left brain and right brain thinking required for complex problem solving. Outside of the office, he enjoys spending time with his family, learning to play piano, and practicing yoga and mindfulness.

Ben Dose

Ben Dose
Architectural Staff

Ben was drawn out to the PNW by the prospect of endless hiking discoveries, and also by the conceptual efficiency of having just a few large bodies of water rather than 10,000 smaller ones. He received his Bachelor of Science in Architecture from the University of Minnesota in 2015, where he developed a passion for translating personality and philosophy into livable form; he’s been working in residential architecture since.

Gus Zerbey

Gus Zerbey
Office Dog

Gus joined Studio Zerbey in 2019 and although his opinions on architecture are limited, he brings a youthful energy to the office. When not asking for pets, he can usually be found napping under a desk.
