Located in the Phinney Ridge neighborhood of Seattle, we’re in the design phase for a new custom home on a standard city lot. Like many homes in this area, the house is perched up off the street, with the grading reworked to create a more usable front yard space for the homeowners. Large sliding doors off the back of the house provide a better visual connection to the yard and an opportunity to expand their living space in the warmer months. A partially covered rooftop deck opens up views to the west. The scale and form compliment the surrounding homes while rethinking what a modern home in the city can be.
