Ballard Whole House Remodel (under construction)

Currently under construction, this 1914 house in the Ballard neighborhood of Settle is undergoing an extensive remodel that will double the usable space of the home and create a more functional layout for the family of four. In the unfinished basement, the existing foundation will be properly waterproofed and a new concrete slab installed prior to finishing out the space – which will include a den, 2 bedrooms (one of which can be used as extension of the den), bathroom, laundry and ample storage within an existing crawl space (which will be converted to a heated, “short basement”). The main level will be opened up (both horizontally and vertically) to allow for better flow and natural light, with a new kitchen layout and stair location. A ladder will go to small loft space created from the addition of a new roof dormer. A geothermal heat pump, high efficiency hot water heater, new windows and doors and insulation will vastly improve the home’s energy usage.
